We often describe a perfect moment in a perfect setting as magical. But it isn't magic, it's the careful arrangement of ordinary things -- where that window faces and what time the sun hits it, whether there's enough light to operate the equipment, whether you can reach your book from your chair, whether your things will still be there after the storm, whether the storefront glass shows off your wares, whether you can reach your book from your chair, and whether that extra six inches of room allows you to have a table big enough to gather everyone. When it's all just right, it might feel like magic. But it's just good design.
